500E Rear Speaker Removal...

I have a 124 chassis manual but it is not clear or accurate about the 500E rear speaker enclosure removal procedure.

I found that there seems to be a screw/plastic post in the rear of the unit that is holding it down near the sunshade. I was able to lift the sides and front lose so I can see in there and there appears to be two plastic clips and a post going down to the rear shelf. (did see the dual tweeters, kinda cool - almost hate to get rid of them !).I looked under the shelf from the trunk but did not see anything.

Any advice ?

Thanks,

I got them out...

They were very stubborn, but came out eventually.
There was a post molded in the speaker cover that extened thru the rear deck covering and had a pressed on disk that held very tightly.

I also took out the front speakers. I found that the rattling I attributed to my door panels was coming from the passenger front dash speaker. The rubber suspension was torn completely from the cone with almost a surgical level of precision.

Hopefully this weekend I will have some time to complete the interior removal and start Dynamating.
