Can anyone suggest an aftermarket amplifier to replace the original (failing) Becker unit in a 91 500SL? -- somthing that doesn't require me to hack into the wiring harness would be ideal.

There are two amplifiers in my 1991 300SL Becker system. One amp is in the truck mounted radio head and it drives the mid range door speakers as well as the dash mounted tweeters. The second amp is under the front seat and drives the woofers in the doors. So, which amp is failing? Becker will repair your system, but as many SL owners on this forum have discovered, a new modern "all in one" system with CD MP3 Nav etc. is a nice way to go. Tod
