opinion about Amps.
how important is it to have a decent amp for the subs? i had the general idea that you can have cheaper amps for the subs because they only produce the lower notes. but need a nice pricy amp for the speakers
1. i was looking into some factory refurbished Bazooka amps for around 70 bucks and they make about 500 watts Rms into 4 ohm. i know they are a cheaper brand but i don't want to spend $3-400 on an amp again. so what is your opinion on these lower price amp for subs? i had a $700 amp (gs design, same co as Autotek) that made 900 watts rms at 2 ohm, and 1200 rms at 1 ohm. that was fun, but them getting stoled was not 2. also it forgot about this. subs are DVC 4 ohms. so they are 2 and 8 ohm. but 2 of them you can do 4 ohm. but if you have 3 can u still do 4? or does it have to be 3 ohms?

I'm in no way an expert on this. But i'll tell you from personal experience what has happened to me.
I had originally hooked up my subwoofer to my 6 channel amp running 4 internal speakers off of it too. It fried two JL subwoofers. The first time one of the voicecoils fried and broke off. The second time it just stopped working. So I got a new alpine 500watt amp for the sub, and it's been perfect since. I guess the moral of the story is that it does matter, and you can't just hook it up to anything

Your quality of bass will suffer and you will hear it just as clearly as you hear the quality from the sound coming ou tof your vocal speakers..... Keep it balanced and you will be happy. Better off keeping it the way it is than buying crap....
