94 E420 - Amp wiring diagram

Does anyone know the wiring diagram for the Amps in the 94 E420s? There are 2 amps, one for the left side and one for the right side. I need to know in order to bypass them without cutting any of the wires.

If not, I could probably figure it out. There are 11 prongs on the harness plug (a 12th is just a blank). Each amp (I assume) has 2 input wires and 2 output wires for the front speakers... and the same for the rear. That's 8. Add another 1 for power and maybe 1 for ground. That's 10. Not sure what the last one would be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Willy

I think I have it!!!

Folks,

I think I answered my own question. I did some digging on the w124 CDs and found the entire sound system wiring guide.

As best as I can see, this is layout for the plug connected to the amp. This is for the right side amp... left is the same.

1 Blank/unused
2 Output-to speaker (Right front -)
3 Input-from radio harness connector B-#3 (Right front +)
4 Output-to speaker (Right front +)
5 Input-from radio harness connector B-#4 (Right front -)
6 Power-Tied to Left Amp #6
7 Input-from radio harness connector B-#2 (Right rear -)
8 To Left Amp #8
9 Input-from radio harness connector B-#1 (Right rear +)
10 Output-to speaker (Right rear -)
11 Ground-Tied to Left Amp #11
12 Output-to speaker (Right rear +)

I need to test this to be absolutely sure. Anyway, assuming this is correct, I should be able to bypass the amp by unplugging the connectors and jumping the following on each connector:

4 - 3
5 - 2
7 - 10
9 - 12

Comments???

Willy
