Another Phone Question.... W202

After reading the 137 something odd threads that came up on my search, I am now more confused with no answer.

I just purchased a 2000 C280sport with the factory phone kit installed but WITHOUT a handset. I would like to purchase the correct handset off of E-Bay, but want to make sure I buy the correct phone.

I prefer Verizon (CDMA?)

Can this system be upgraded?

Thanks for and info/advice

I have attached a picture of the connector in the console.

YES ("aren't" is a word, well, actually a contraction).
NO they aren't all ATT.
The 2000 models I believe are all Motorola Startac phones.
Check with your service provider to see which type of phone would be correct for you. This is only a dual band/dual mode phone, so it has to be correct. USUALLY it won't work with a nationwide roaming type of plan.
The wiring in a 2000 is made for 800mhz only, it supposedly won't work with 1900mhz, so there isn't, in theory, very much upgrading that can be done. It may be more efficient to seek out a custom installer to try to interface with the factory system.
