Question If I dont port thru rear deck...

will it sound like crap? or not sound at all? I am considering putting some subwoofers in my trunk, and would like to know if that will be worthwhile, or if I will need to hack my rear deck to peices in order to get sound. If I remove the trays in the deck, will they go back seamlessly? I dont want to harm the vehicle just to have sound.

Has anyone tried the "bass shakers" that mount under ones seat? Do they work and would they give me a similar sound and feel as regular subs?

Thanks for your help!

Do not get bass shakers. I have a 126 300sd i u put a pair of 12s in my trunk. They sounded ****ty at first because I got so much rattling from the rear deck. I removed the trays, and I hold the lids in the back open with something when I'm really trying to bump my system and I sounds great. You don't need to hack up the rear deack at all. To get the trays out i simply removed 2 screws on each side on the latch that connected to the lid and the whole deck lifted up. Slid the trays out and put the deck back in place and was good to go. It should be easy to replace the trays. You should go for it though, you shouldn't be dissapointed.

I would do both the buttshakers under the front seats and sub in the trunk. I've got a 12" Infinity mounted underneath the (removed) first aid kit box, being fed 300W and it's just enough to hear, but no kick. I'm a drummer so I need to feel the bass drum, hence why next weekend I'll be putting the Aurasound Pro shakers under the two front seats. The Pro's can handle 50W each and won't heat up as fast as their cheaper model.

I suggest you have at least two 8" subs or bigger and at least 300W, or forget it.
