Aftermarket CD/Receiver Installation
How do I install an aftermarket CD/Receiver?
Specifically, how does an aftermarket unit fit into the space taken up by the OEM head unit? Is there a facia kit or is the opening the same size? I have a 1999 C280 sport (carbon fiber trim). Can someone give me advice or point me to a thread that addresses this? I'm having a little trouble finding anything in the forum. Thanks much. Dan

The stock radio should be a standard DIN sized unit, which should fit most aftermarket radios. The slots on the bottom edges of the unit are keyholes for inserting removal keys.
I'm unfamiliar with the sound setup on your car, you might want to contact a stereo shop for more information on how the speakers and amps are wired. Scott w/ La Jolla Audio frequents this board and should be able to help answer questions. -anthony |
