Hello Board, my project idea is to put some 6 inch speakers in the door of my 87 300e. I need a little more bass inside. Well there are compartments in the drivers and passenger door panel of our cars. I wanted to know if it is possible to fit a speaker in the door, of course I'll be cutting a hole in the panel, but I will not be cutting any metal. And I will of course have to buy speaker cloth to make it look "factory".Is this a good idea?(wiring,difficulty, sound quality)??

later model 300E came with 6.5 inch subwoofers in the door location you are talking about. The main problem with having any bass in that location is that it causes stuff in the door to come loose and rattle. I finally just had to disconnect mine because everything was rattling so much.
