Radio won't turnoff when engine is shutdown
When I turn off (and remove) the ignition key on our 87 300SDL, if the radio is on it will not turn off. Until today, when the key was turned off, the radio did also and the antenna retracted. The radio will turn on/off normally using the radio switch and the antenna will extend/retract correctly. But it just stays on when I remove the key unless I manually shut off the radio.
Any ideas? Is there some setting that permits this that we didn't know about over the past 16 years that we just accidentally and unknowingly stumbled onto? I want the radio to automatically shut off when the engine is turned off as it always has... Thanks, MikeP |

I had a buick regal that did the same thing. It turned out that the radio stayed on until the antenna retracted, and the motor that retracted th antenna was broken, so it would stay on. I don't know if this helps, but good luck.
