Speaker wiring questions

I have an 87 TDT and would like to take out the stock radio and put in a new Pioneer. The stock speaker wiring has two plugs and two more that are looped together. I assume this is for the fader. Does anyone know what wires go to what speaker in the car? I also assume that I would unplug the loop and hard wire into the new head unit. Is there a way of finding out which wire goes to what?
