Unhappy radio malfunction

I recently purchased a 1989 190E and almost immediately discovered that the radio does not work. There is power to the system, and I believe the problem lies in the fact that the previous owner may have disconnected the battery at some time and now the "original" radio does not work. What do I do next????

What does the radio say? Does your owner's manual have a CODE CARD in it?

Dealership should be able to give you the code if you can't find it... assuming that's the problem.
