Removing 380sl Becker radio & 4" Speakers ???

Any tips on removing the Becker radio in my car....I just purchased a new Blaupunkt Heidelberg & CD changer for the beast.

Also, any experience in mounting the Infinity Kappa 42.5i speakers up front?

I had a stereo shop replace my Becker with a Pioneer. He only charged 15 dollars. I don't know if the Becker just pulls out or if you need a special tool.

I think the tool they use boogers up the wood. (It's a U-shaped wire that fits between the radio and the wood below.) When I'm fooling with mine, I remove the ash tray, unscrew the ashtray housing (2 sheetmetal screws), and the wood and climate control slip right down. Then you pull those 2 little clips at the bottom of the radio down and the radio pulls out.

Also, some of them have a stablizer peg on the side of the radio that might not slide out. If so, you can get to that by removing the glove box.
