Advice on a Head Unit.

This forum has so much information that it's sometimes overwhelming for the novice. After searching and reading for several days for an answer to my question, I think it would work as well to just ask the experts. I have an 89 560SEL with the OEM setup (Becker and 10 speakers). While staying as original as possible and keeping the console mounted fader, I would like to add single-CD capability (a changer not a high priority). Is the Becker-Kardon BE4602 my only option for a plug-and-play installtion or are there other head units that will work without major changes to the existing installation? Any advice is appreciated and thanks.

I recently added the Becker 4602 and am very pleased. There is
much better bass than original. The installation was less than
five minutes in my SLK. I talked with Ed Ebel at Becker and was supplied a rebuilt unit at quite a reduction in price.
Hope this helps

I have had one in my SLK for about four years. Love it! Only problem I have had is with the round pushbottons "peeling" but Becker fixed it--no charge. In the SLK, it is a five minute install at the most but you should probably ask the Becker people about your car.
