Harness wiring is as you assume

Yellow to nearest power source, usually the one that feeds the antenna (not the turn-on wire). The blue is the turn-on wire from your HU amp.

You mean under the rear package shelf?

It's 15 3/16" long X 8 1/4" wide X 4 5/8" deep. I'd say no., at least on my car, as it would hit the gas tank. But the whole idea is that you don't need to mount it in the passenger compartment. It's designed for trunk mounting. And, you don't need to remove the storage compartments in the shelf either, as the bass radiates through just fine.

Don, et al....

OK, I got the unit and I've got all the wires hooked to my HU. Now I have to find a place to mount it.

I tried removing the First Aid cover... but can't do it without destroying it.

Any reason why this cannot be mounted in the trunnk, upside down, attached to the rear shelf? Lots of room down there.. but not sure if upside-down will cause problems or lack of bass.

Please advise

Upside down under the shelf will work fine. I'd be careful drilling up into the shelf, though, in case of wires, vacuum hose, etc.
I opted for the special bracket solution because of a need to stuff the trunk full from time to time (wife's stuff), and putting it there effectively lowers the available height that you have to use.
It's also possible to fasten it to the panel in front of the gas tank, mount in either of the wells (if your car has them) in the floor, or even on the panel at the rear under the trunk latch.
Again, there is no need to open any passageway to the passenger compartment (if that is why you wanted to remove the first aid and/or storage compartment cover(s)) IMO. If you really feel compelled to open a hole from the trunk, just remove the masonite shelf piece, take out the plastic trays, replace it, and open the lids. The thin masonite lids with or without the trays don't offer enough of an acoustical barrier to justify their removal, as this unit is designed for sealed trunk mounting. It probably works slightly better facing across the trunk than down, but play around and see if you can detect any real difference. I couldn't.

Don,

I just noticed another set of brackets that came with it. I can use it to install install it off the inside rear shelf pointing strait towards the passenger compartment... although It will be pointing through the gas tank.

I guess I'll just have to try different locations to see.

Apologies for reviving an old thread again

...but I was changing the antenna and thought I'd post pics of the bracket that holds the WOOX on the fenderwall, which I didn't think to do last time I had everything apart.
