Cell phone

I have a 2000 C230 and am interested in using the pre-wired cell phones option but I do not wish to pay the MB price for their phone. I have a new Motorola c3301 phone which I believe is tri-mode. Anyway to get this phone to fit and work with the hands free controls already in the car?
Any ideas?

I have the same question. I have a 95 S500C and I want to upgrade my old analog phone to a digital phone. I was told it's involved all the harness and wiring of the radio, amp...etc and would not be possible. What do you think?

I think you will find that is a lost cause, I have a buddy with a 99 Sl500 who tried to do the same thing and was basically told it would involve ripping out all stereo, amp and wiring and re doing it. Not very cost effective. MB changed over to digital in 2000 so I think mine should be easier but I can not get a straight answer anywhere. The dealers just want you to buy their $1500 phone.
Maybe someone out there will no the real deal and let us know.
Cheers

Well, one thing I need for sure is to change my radio to a D2B one. And I could use a Nokia phone and a Nokia kit. Of course, not from the dealer. I just wonder where I can get a D2B radio, that's.

I have a Motorola Startac 8767 for sale that is almost identical to the MBZ one: tri-band and it is for Verizon service.

No, MB has it's own software in their V60 to work with the car. But I might be wrong.

Yes, I asked a guy from Netherlands regarding changing my old anolog phone to a Nokia and he suggested I changed the Bose radio to the newer MB D2P raido first to see how things go. Because the Nokia kit would work only with D2P optic connectors. And if it works, he could put the whole Nokia kit in my coupe as factory way. Great because I could use the same Nokia on my other car. Try mercedesmods.com and you could find a lot of info on this subject and many others.
