a short?

Hello - I am trying to install a stereo/cd player and I have shorted something. My hazards no longer work, and I cant find the corresponding fuse(I am a new owner of an 84 300D turbo so please forgive me...). There is an existing plug with four conductors, and I do not know to what they are all connected. I assume one is to battery, one is to ignition(acc), and the other two I am not sure. The cd player plays through a radio station, so I too am looking for the best spot to place the cd player - any hints? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks-peace

Ground - Brown
Ignition (12v switched) - Black with yellow
Illumination - Grey with violet
Battery (12v constant) - Red

The same fuse protects the radio and the hazard system. Even if it looks ok, replace it anyway. Crusty fuses can always cause weird problems. I think on your car it's fuse #2.
