Front speaker size in 87 300E
 

I am going to finally replace my 16 year old speakers in my 300E. however I am l little conserned about size. I have read some posts that say a 5" will fit but it seems most people here use 4". I am very interested in the Polk EX350 which are 5" coaxals. Will they fit okay? I don't mind making some minor cuts but i don't want to redesign the dash! Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Adam - I'm pretty sure the 5" won't fit without making some mods in the front. The rear deck can accomodate a 5" speaker, but the front can't. I'd go for the Infinity Kappa 4" for the front, 5 1/4" in the back and if you need more bass, add a sub. The 5 /14" should give a pretty decent bass response paired with a good head unit/amp.
