CD changer skip
I recently installed an Alpine CD trunk (CHM-S630) changer bolted into the floor of the passenger's side rear wheel well of a 93' 190. I bolted directly to the floor because I could not find a OEM style bracket to mount the player.
Sounds great and plays everthing but CDs sometimes skip over mid size bumps (sukken manhole covers etc.) Before purchasing I read that these Alpine unit should rarely skip. Has anyone expeienced a similar problem with CD players mounted in this position? Would it help if the unit were mounted vertically under the decklid? or if a mounting bracket were fabricated (not direct floor mount)? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Resolved- the angle settings were not in the correct position. I've been using the unit for a week now and on some pretty unforgiving New York streets (no skips at all! and plays CDRs with no problems)
I highly recommend the use of the Alpine cd changer with the OEM head unit (which plugs right in with an adapter). Thanks
