Nakamichi CD- 400

The lastest Nak CD receiver is available at $325 on the interenet. Does anyone know if it play CD-R's. Some people have said that the previous generation had trouble because their laser readers are so precise. Any info on this? Thanks.

They say it will read cd-r but I don't know anyone running one. The old units did not read them well. The new unit is nice and has dual illumination with amber and green. I almost bought one but the future of Nak is in serious question. I'm just worried about quality control. If cd-r, mp3 and other cutting edge features are important to you then Nak may not be the answer. I've come across some high end bekker units (they go under the harman kardon label in the US) that look great in an MB. They are a bit pricy though. Here's a link:
