420sel Installation Of Wired Remote?

I have a 90 420sel that I am getting ready to switch out the mb deck and add a Sony 6900 series am/fm/minidisc with a wired remote. Normally, you install the wired remote on the steering wheel side. But, I don't think it will fit very well without butchering the column and I don't want to do that. Can anyone tell me where would be a good place to mount this remote that would be fairly easy to use upon completion? Should I just go without the wired remote? Any suggestions? Scott

Run the wire down the side of the center console, have it come out beside the driver's seat and leave the control head in the tray under the armrest. Might not work if you have a passenger side airbag.

wired remote

Thanks for the info. My car does have the passenger airbag and the covered locking tray. But, after putting a small hole in the side(inside) and running the line out and down the side of the console, I believe this will work out great. Thanks. Scott
