Stock speaker plug polarity
Hi, I'm replacing the becker in my 300e ('89) with an eclipse CD3403. Through the helpfullness of the Becker instruction manual I've almost completed mods to the eclipse harness to create a plug-in install. The only thing the manual dosen't explain is the polarity of the connectors in the stock speaker wire plug. This plug (and several throughout the car) has a thin wide section and a pin-like section. Somewhere in the forums I remember seeing a test to check speaker polarity but I can't find it. Is the pin +'ve and the flat one -'ve or is it the other way round? Thanks.

Remove the grille cover, if necessary, to see the cone movement. Connect a small (AA, AAA) battery to the pins. If the cone moves out when the last pin is connected, the + lead is the side from the battery +. If it moves in, the reverse is true. (Been a while, hope I explained this right)(I'm sure I'll get corrected if it's not though!)
