I bought one of those short black rubber antennas for my 300e because I am tired of the stock auto one not going down all the way or not going up. Without thinking, I cut the two end connectors off both the mercedes antenna wire and the one from the new antenna thinking I could just splice them but I couldnt get that to work. Is there a way to splice the antenna cable or do I have to make sure each and every piece of copper is connected? If not it isnt too big of a deal as I can just get another antenna ($20) and run new cable.

...if so, Radio Shack sells ends and splicing adaptors that should work.

I didnt think it was coax upon first inspection but under a closer look it is and I found the really thin wire in the middle and it solved my problem. Thanks for the help.
