A question for La Jolla Car Audio

Scott or Cleve,

What would it take (we're talking sky is the limit here) to get aftermarket speakers and amplifiers into a W211 E class with the Harmon Kardon system in it? I would like to keep the Logic 7 processing if at all possible but very badly want to get away from the stock speaker/amp combo. While I'm too far away to have you do the installation on my car I'm curious if I could send you the head unit or amp or both for modification? Is there any way to get a full range low level line output? I want to do this so this isn't just a theoretical question. Another option would be shipping the car out to you but that's VERY costly and I'd rather put that money into the car!

As of yet we haven't had the time to crack one open. We do have a 211 deck and tuner in stock but we need time and the is no relief in site. I will tell Cleeve and let him know what you are interested in and when he gets some time he will check into it....

So somewhere around mid-2007??? No, seriously, I appreciate your efforts and am very happy to be patient. I'd rather wait to get a good result than rush and get a bad one.

I am planning to get rid of the MB Bose headunit for an Alpine display head unit. Question, can I hook up the Alpine to the bose amp that came with the car? I am not even sure it has an amp. Perhaps you could educate me, it's a 95 W140 coupe.

I figure all I need is to add a Alpine Mobilhub and I am done.

All you need is a device from soundgate called an oem4A this allows any speaker powered headunit to match the stock bose amps input.

Thank Scott, just ordered one. Can't decide which display to get, Alpine or Panasonic. Panasonic has a deal with a complete navigation with display unit for the price of the Alpine navigation unit alone. But my main goal is to intergrate the phone into the audio system. Alpine has a Mobilhub that would work with a Nokia 6310i which I have. I wonder if Panasonic has the same thing.

Scott, thank for your reply. One more question, can I use the factory cell phone antenna on the W140 to use with the Nokia 6310i? I don't know if it is GSM or not.

No, as the antenna is only 800 mhz so you will need to use anothe antenna. I use the hirschmann in glass antenna it is 1 in by 5 in long and works really well.

Scott, Imoved the navigation system to the trunk after you were questioning the locaton of it. Thank for pointing it out. My question is how do I get my setup to work on the CVA 1004? It said hold the setup button down for a few second and the car has to be on parked and brake on. But nothing happened. Is there a wring process could correct it? Ground it too?
