static (pop) in speaker - 124

On my E320 wagon, whcih i just acquired, there is a sharp static "pop" when radio is turned off (maybe when turning on too, can't remember as I write this) or station selecyion buttons are depressed.

I've got the cover off the speaker and am about to attempt to remove the speaker, thinking maybe a wire was loose, but then had a thought...I don't know what I'm doing and there may be no way a loose wire, etc., at the speaker could be the problem.

Any ideas you could send my way would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Allan

sounds to me like capacitors going bad in the radio. Check in with cleeve at www.lajollaaudiorepair.com and he can help you get that taken care of.
