No left channel on stereo.

Hi everyone.

The stereo on my car ('94 SL500 R129) only has the right channel working. What is the problem and is it expensive to repair? I am attaching a photo of my stereo. I would appreciate any help in removing it and sending it out for the work. Thanks for the great forum.

Sound Problem

Hi Boudreaux,

The radio you have is an Alpine/Mercedes CM2194 model. The problem you have is not uncommon for that model. The repair that we have for it is very good and solid. If you would like to have more information on how to get it serviced please contact me directly and I will be glad to help you end the frustration of not having the great sound that your Mercedes had and should have in it. Thank you for using the Mercedes Forum and be confident that the people on this forum are here to help and advise you in any way they can.

You might be able to find another good working radio on eBay for less than the price of what the repair might run you. Also you might want to consider upgrading to a CD player. Alpine makes many good aftermarket CD players as well. You can check Crutchfield.com for what would work best in your car. They have excellent customer service as well as very competitive prices.
