W140 CD changer problem

On my 1994 S600 coupe with the 6-CD changer, the CDs play fine for about 5 minutes and then just cut out completely - no sound whatsoever. If I wait a while the entire cycle will repeat itself - e.g. upon startup I get perfect CD play until about 5 minutes.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jay

Thanks!

CD Changer Problem

Sounds like a computer problem inside the changer itself. It is fixable. Something is heating up and shutting itself off internally. I will be able to service it for you if you will just send it to me. Please contact me directly and I will advise you of all the information you will need.

Options

Hi dgtlmn,

There is no aftermarket (10) disc changer available that will work with your system. (6) disc, yes. Repair of your unit is still the cheaper way to go.
