I have a 1992 300e w/ bone stock audio system. I want to install new speakers all around and a new amp, to replace the stock one. HELP. I already have an Alpine head unit for it, Im just trying to figure out what brand speakers and amp would be best. Thanks.

it depends on what kind of sound you want.

does your car have the door speakers in the front?

I'm extremely happy with the infinity reference series seperates I put in my car. 6.5" in the front, tweeter mounted in the dash speaker location, and 5 1/4" in the rear, mounted in the factory speaker pods, modified by me to fit just right. tweeters mounted on the rear deck. overall, they sound very nice to my ears, and cost was not too much at all. I'm running a 300w x 4 amp, roughly 75w per channel into the speakers, and I use an audio control four.1i to fine tune the settings. of course having two 15" woofers int he trunk gives it that much needed bass kick I like, but is overkill for most and even myself at times.

overall, you can;t go wrong with good speakers and a good amp. the hedunit you have should work fine for controlling everything.

you can go with plenty of other brands, I happen to like the way the infinities sound, and I have the bass cut off in them mostly because I don;t need them to put out much bass because of the woofers.

My system is still in the works though, as I am going to be redoing the 15's in a different box setup, maybe even trim down to 1 15", but I am unsure of what I will do until I hear it.

The door speakers are by my ass and are very annoying.

I myself like bass and want some speakers that can push out some good crisp quality bass. Im not very intrested in adding subwoofers though i alreadyhave a Trans Am with 2 12" subs and I don't enjoy listening to them anymore. Its just to much bass for me now. Anyway im going to look into purchasing and installing the speakers after christmas (possible better deals).


Thanks for the input though, im going to look into Infinites and possibly some diamond audio speakers.
