XM Radio---anybody put one in older Benz?
Hi Gang,
Been thinking of putting an XM radio in Hildy. She has a cd player-radio (Pioneer brand) that is XM compatible. I think all I have to do is buy an XM receiver and of course sign up. I have an 84 300SD that I really take care of and keep detailed well, so aesthetics are important to me. I love the lines of my car and don't want to ruin them with one of those modern bubble type antennas. Any ideas/suggestions? Anybody else install XM and I am curious as to if you like it. THanks in advance! |

I have put Sirius satellite in my 73 280sel 4.5, along with a new head unit and six speakers, all in the stock locations under stock grilles. The only things non-stock are the head unit and the trunk mounted sat. antenna, which several people have commented looks very cool on a 30-year old car. I love the concept of a vintage M-B with 21st c. sound, all mostly invisible (the sepakers anyway). i have some pics of what it looks like if interested. Did a thread "108 chassis sound system" with pics too.
