XM install
I'm considering installing a XM satellite roady unit in my w124 95 wagon, but the local Tweeter dealer could not locate an adater piece that allows them to hook up the unit to the CD output on my stock indash OEM unit. I'm not sure what model the MB dech is, but it is a cassette deck. Does anyone know if there is such an adapter?
Also, I'd like to do a simple speaker upgrade to improve the sound a bit. Any suggestions? Thanks - H |

Roady install
I just purchased a Roady for my 124W 300D, I'm planning on using the Wireless FM modulator. This should keep it portable and prevent me from changing the stock setup. I will let you know how it works. It hasn't arrived yet. Just a thought..

XM test W124
So I got my XM Roady working. The wirless FM unit is not as clear as a wired unit. It's great for portability, however if you have a strong station near the freq. setting you will here static at low volumes and at song switching. The good news is it looks like the unit will be easy to install in the ash tray with out changing the OEM design. I don't think the door will close with out cutting. I think I will work on a hard wire connection this spring. One last note sound quailty not much better with the cassette adapter if you have an unoccupied radio station. My MB radio is a Becker 1432
