Question 92 400E cell phone removal?

Did a search for this, but could not find to much info.

Anyone have info on how to properly remove the intgrated analog cell phone in the glove box located between the front seats? Since the 400E has no passenger side glove compartmet, it would be nice to have a place to store things, those door storage compartments are getting kind of full. Have lost quite a few sunglasses becuse I had no place to lock them up.

Phone handset removal

Removed mine from E320, sure yours will be the same. Follow handset wire to the aft side of the compartment. Where wire goes into female connector. Lift up on small plastic tab, just like a house phone. and pull the wire out. Couple of phillips head screw removal will release the cradle & the retainer spring, if it's still there. The removal of the harness under the seat and on to the trunk unit is optional.

Talking 92 400E cell phone removed!

Thanks! Finallly removed that old analog cell phone. On a 1992 400E you have to remove the entire glove box to dissconnect then the phone. Just two long screws at the front of the glove box (inside of coarse), lift out the box, disconnect the phone, and that it. Can't belive the dealer wanted to charge me $100 bucks to do that! Now I have a place to lock up my sunglases!! Thanks for all the help!
