age old analog phone question
Hi,
I have been through this several times on many forums, and I still have not found an answer to this age old question. I have an outdated analog phone in the 98 SL500. What do I have to do to upgrade to a digital? No one in the area will activate the analog phone! NY/CT Thanks

well, a simple solution is to remouve the analog phone, and get a hands free cell phone system installed in it's place.... tapping into the wiring to intergrate a cell phone is probably possible, but not simple.... better yet get a contemporary Alpine HU, a nokia cell phone hub and a compatible nokia gsm phone and you're in buisiness....
p.s. did you try verizon to activate your analog phone, my old NEC analog phone (circa 88) installed in my old bmw was hooked up to their system untill about 2yrs ago... now it's seating in a box in my garage...

you should also check into bluetooth compatible phones.
you can feed the signal with the phone in your pocket . . .

Getting analog cell service is like:
1) Finding a replacement drive belt for a Philco Ford turntable. 2) Locating American made vaccum tubes 3) Buying a 5.25" floppy drive for your PC 4) Anything Betamax, Reel to Reel, 8-track, EL Cassette It might be hard, but why would you want to? |
