how would I ...
go about getting the LCD replaced on my Becker Grand Prix Stereo/Cassette in my 1985 300SD? The LCD seems to be broken. It's kinda like when you break the display on a calculator. THe radio and cassette work great but you can't tell what station you are listening to.

you can sent it in to becker and exchange it for a rebuilt unit...

id lookup becker north america and ask to talk to the service manager... I called him about redoing the backlight and tuning my europa cassette and he ws real nice, and said $125 would be about right for that radio... Much better than the quotes Ive gotten from other radio places, and Im dealing with Becker.
Since Im from the area that they are located, they said I could even take it in (with prenotice so they have the right parts), and wait for it or go home and get it back same day. For LCD replacement, id bet it would be the same. they will sell parts too, so if youre handy with a soldering iron, and willing to take your chances, you could probably DIY. JMH
