Unhappy W140 ?????????amp?????????

I am having a problem when playing FM. The sound quality goes in and out.(like a loudness button is pushed and released) Bass drastically diminishes and at times the overall sound echos. This is happening in my 1998 S500.
Thanks in advance for all help.

P.S.- This doesn't happen when playing CD's or cassettes(if I can find one........LOL, might as well be an 8 track)

I have a similar problem with one of my Volvo wagons. When driving, sometimes the high frequecies go soft then loud. The only thing I can attribute it to is either signal multipath problems or a signal reception problem. The antenna is on one of the rear glass sections similar to the defrosting elements.

Make sure your antenna connections are tight at the radio and the antenna.

Maybe there is some feature in the radio that's causing your problem.

Thanks

I actually changed the antenna, so it's not on that end. I'll pull the radio.
