quality hands free cell in w126
I drive alot. I really like integrated phone/car audio setups because they seem to offer better audio than after market hands free kits. Anybody have any preference for a hands free setup that would look fairly "stock" on an 86 300sdl? I'll probably replace the original becker with a new unit and trunk mounted cd changer. I'd like the radio to have a cell phone mute feature.
I've also tried the mic's that hang off down on the cord or off the ear and I don't like them. My service provider is verizon. thanks Dave

if you planning a whole new system, get an alpine HU with mp3 capability and the cradle for a nokia phone, and of course the phone itself.... you can access the phone from the stereo, and det both ohone mute, and phone audio through the car speakers with this setup... got to alpine's website for more details....

The drawback is that we tend to keep our cars longer than we keep those cell phones, or switch providers, or upgrade to newer phones when our plans expire.

It seems that only Alpine has this type of device. Must not be very popular. Not cheap either. $250 just for the mobile hub.

Yeah, I think Alpine is the only one so far, and yeah, the mobile hub is not cheap plus the Alpine unit to use with. Over all, if you plan to keep the car long, it worths to consider it. I have that setup in the S500 coupe. It works flawlessly.
