Installing Fiber Optic CD Changer

Is it possible to put a MB fiber optic cd changer installed to an aftermarket Alpine deck? or would i need a newer fiber optic head unit also?

You will need a fiber optic deck to control it. It is cheaper and better to just get the right alpine cd changer.

Hi Scott:

I left you a pm reguarding the right alpine changer. i have a 1998 e320 with the becker 1692 unit in front. can you suggest a compatible aftermarket alpine changer for me?

Thank you,

Mars

you can use either the alpine chm-s630 or the cha-s-634 then all you need is adapter from perephriperal is the mbzil and if you do the 634 you need an adapter made by alpine ai net to m buss.

Btw, i was googling for the ai-net to m-bus adapter you were suggesting and came up with this item at crutchfield's site, can you verify if it'll fit in the alpine 634?

That is what you need if you are using the 634 cdc...
