Awesome! Glad to hear it worked out for you!

Nothing sounds better than the sound of he radio turning on for the first time . . .

Regards,
Bryan

All of that just to get NPR on....NPR???? Oh sheeeesh, she's from Oregon! We should have been good samaritans and just let her radio not function. Warning: NPR can be hazardous to your intellectual health.
I just couldn't resist...no offense intended

Talking Yes....NPR

Some of us enjoy the not so regular propaganda and actually really enjoy the classical music.

I'm actually thinking of voting for Nader........
HA!

I've tried the "24 hour test", yet to no avail.

My radio/tape unit, model Becker Europa 749 (built between 1988-1991) has a different security system, in the fact there is no basic factory code; it comes unlocked, and the owner sets a code, which he/she writes down then. If the code is locked... may it rest in peace

The code numbers are a different setup - instead of a 4-digit number with each digit lower than 6, it has a 3-digit number with each digit between 0 and 9.

In the end I've removed the unit and brought it to a guy who read the code from the chip in which was stored, using a computer. He charged me $15 for the job, and commented the unit seemed practically untouched - "he would guess it was practically never worked in the last 14 years"

So now I have a working radio/tape, plus two speakers - yet the interior sound is awesome.

~Thanks all

Let's see if I can rejuvinate a 4 year old thread...

I have the same issue with the WAIT mode lock-down thing. Key has been in accessory position with the stereo on for about 28 hours straight!

I'M STILL WAITING!!!

Maybe I could put the CODE in while it's displaying WAIT because it's been longer than 24 hours, but I'm thinking that could start the clock all over again.

Or maybe it's simply broken and WAITING won't solve the problem.

I'm not at wits end, but I can see it from here.

Woohoo!

(insert nonsensical dancing and flailing of arms)

Seems while I was in the house posting my disdain for WAIT, the stereo displayed CODE. For the record, it was grueling 28 hour wait.

I carefully entered the CORRECT code and it sounds awesome!!!

Now, to get the Aux input accessory added.

Life is Grand! Peace Out!

Mine locked Thursday night when my aux fans stayed on all night of their own accord. OK, they only stayed on until the battery went dead. It was dead for about 10 hours. Long enough to make my stereo think it was stolen.

I can't find any maintenance print outs to pull the code off of. I am going to carry my registration down to the dealer tomorrow and see if they will give me the code.
