I am trying to figure out which CD Changer fits or more importantly is the one meant for a 2000 S430 and whcih bracket is needed. The two fiber optic changers I have seen are models MC3198 and MC3010. Thanks in advance.

Either one would work, I believe the 3198 is the one that needs adapter brackets on a 2000 model year (whichever one is currently sold by MB would need the adapter brackets on a 2000).
The newer one is somewhat narrower than what was sold in 2000, so needs these adapters to fit the wider bracket. The bracket itself is already part of the car, it's what the amp mounts to.
