300D w123 hirschmann antenna

the hirschmann antenna in the 300D w123 body
is this a special hirschmann for this body

i see a few on Ebay and would like to replace mine- broken mast and I do not hear the motor buzzing when key is turned on or off

You may only need a new mast. I bought one as a replacement for mine as the PO removed the original one entirely and only put in a manual antenna. The replacement antenna has different connectors and you will need to improvise your own to make it work. Also it will only go up and down, it does not stop at mid height if wired to the switch.
I wish I still had my original assembly. :(

I will have to check the wiring - but would not the motor buzz whether the mast was stuck or not- in my BMW the mast sticks - does not move yet the motor buzzes

I haven't seen any tempting deals on eBay, by time they add on S&H it is normally more expensive than my normal stores.

The motor should make some noise even if it is stuck, granted it is no where near as loud as a motor in full motion but you should be able to hear something.
