Simple? Radio Replacement -- 1992 190E
The original radio in my 1992 190E has bit the dust (not sure of the model number -- has a round volume knob). I'm looking to replace it, but don't want to make any (or many) modifications. I'd like to upgrade to an in-dash CD if possible.
Is there a plug-n-play solution? I've been poking around this forum and on the Becker site and can't tell if a new Becker will just slide right in or not. Does anyone know? How about the wiring? Any other manufacturers/models? Thanks for any info/recommendations.

Lots of units will fit in the slot; the work is in getting the wiring to match up. I always unplug the radio andtake the factory harness apart, then solder the new radio's wires into the factory harness. I have a JVC CD/mp3 player in my dash right now. The Benz was a little more involved than in other cars I've done, trying to figure out what to do w/ the stock fader control and the alarm system.

The becker will not "Plug and Play" without an antenna adapter.
