A Couple detail questions
I have seen a few M119 engine bays that have the aluminum looking so bright and clean. I cleaned mine but it does not shine like when I bought it from Mercedes. Any particular product? I have searched "engine bay clean" etc. but to no avail.
The second question I have is detailing the burlwood on my 500E. No cracks, just little scratches in the seal or "coating" Do you just wax this or is there something better. I did not use the search for this and I will do it now so sorry for a possible repost Thanks, Shaun

So....
....there is a little elbow grease needed. It sure is a knuckle buster place to clean but I will give it a try. Thank you. Cheers!

If you're looking for a natural appearance try a Brass Detailing Brush. They're available at most auto parts stores. Buy two or three as they wear out quick. Only use them on aluminum on the engine, the stainless braided hoses and, metal fittings and hydraulic pipes. You can also use it on the insulation on the firewall but be very gentle. Good luck and post some before/after pics.

Motorcyclists use Happich Semi-Chrome polish available at most motorcycle shops and Pep Boys to polish the aluminum cases to a high gloss shine. There is a sealer that can also be used once you have polished the part and it lasts longer than wax and can actually be waxed. Not sure of the name but ask a professional paint shop, they might know.

You might be thinking of this stuff. It's very expensive though, and I've not heard any independent opinions http://www.zoops.com/zoopseal.asp
What do the manufacturers of musical instruments use to seal their polished finishes?
