Any suggestions for wood trim cleaning? I have some scratches / swirls from my wonderful MB dealer's "complimentary carwash." Well, all the complaints I've left haven't gotten me anywhere and hasn't gotten my wood any better. The light swirls are rather annoying and hurt my eyes to look at. Any suggestions/products?

Meguiars plastic polish will help with those swirls. Meguiars #26 also works pretty well for protecting things from light scratches once you get things cleaned up. If that doesn't work there are other options but always try the least invasive first. The dark wood from say...the 92/93 400Es shows every little thing. The Zebrano and the lighter burl walnut show a bit less. Be very careful, since it swirls that easily it is also easy to take the finish off so be VERY gentle/careful. If that doesn't work post back and we will take it from there. BTW, what model do you have....hence what wood scheme do you have?

Ok I'll give those a trythis weekend. I have a 1997 W210 E420. Burl wood, though my particular car looks really red/cherry.
Thanks

Speaking of the wood trim, any suggestions on how to repair/refinish cracks in the wood trim finish(other than replacing the panel)?

Assmuming the crack is through the clear finish but not actually in the wood itself it can be repaired. A professional can refinish it but for some reason the never look quite right next to the original panels. It depends on the risk you want to take. I suppose you can pay someone to do it but if it doesn't come out right and looks strange you are then forced to either replace or endure. Sorry

Recently I purchased another MB (1971 280S) which needs some restoration to the woodwork due to water damage, and age. I found a wrecking yard with all necessary wood interior pieces in good condition for about $40. rather than worry about the old and how to salvage, I am having all the pieces redone at a furniture resoration shop. This will match all the woodwork to the same color for about $100. I thought this was a great deal since replacement of new wood would have run as high as $1,000. Just another way to go.
