Hi, I’m looking for comments on using the best wax without any compromises for time involved or difficulty to apply. I’ve tried Mothers (very good), Meguairs Gold Class (excellent); I’ve heard that gold class has a shine equal to or better then Zymol. Is there an ultimate wax that has a wetter look then gold class?

Zymol certainly wins as the choice for those who wax for exercise. It and Meguair's are too close to call. The differences probably come down to type/condition of paint underneath. If you read the fine print on the Gold Class bottle it talks about fillers and cleaners in the wax. These help less than perfect finishes look more perfect. For a show car or near show car that has literally almost 0 imperfections the more pure shine Zymol might outperform. For the rest of us mortals Meguiar's is the best choice.

My car paint is perfect, slick as glass without one hair micro scratch. I think I give Zymol a try next time, thanks.

You all know I just had to chime in! =)

I have found nothing to work as well as Meguiar's Gold Class. It is very easy to use, gives a "wet gloss" look second to none, and is pretty durable too. I highly recomend using either Meguiars Cleaner Wax(has polish in it) or one of their "pure" polish products first.

I agree with Lee. It depends on the age and condition of the paint too. A new car can use just about any good wax and get awesome results. An example of that is Boyd's Wax is awesome on a brand new clear coat paint, but not nearly as nice on an older clear coat paint job.

At my last Concours, I was asked how I get that deep wet gloss look...by two Zymol users! (my paint color is Smoke Silver)

Here's one big vote for Gold Class!

Good Luck!
Mike
