I wanted to get an extra key made for my new 92 190E and the counter guy told me it would be

$65

Now I am new to foreign cars but that seems ridiculous!!

Is there any other source? I didn't even think to look for what I really wanted a good set of floor mats.

Where can I get a set of good fitting floor mats for the front??

Find another dealer, it cost me $25 last year at the dealer and considering I'm in Honolulu and the key was ordered from the east coast, your dealership flag should be the "jolly roger."

As for floor mats, if you're looking for the black rubber ones, the Mercedes "all weather" mat sets are about $75 for a set of four . . . at most dealers . . . yours might want to you to submit some payroll stubs and credit report. ;)

You're right. I am not setting foot in there again.

I just looked at the Performance Products catalog and there are some good looking mats in there.

Which are the best looking / wearing for the money; Statesman or Coco??

A set of 4 floor mats from my local dealer runs $99. Regular not winter.
Keys are about $25 each.

Find another dealer their ripping you off.

$65 is bad... but my local Mercedes dealer, mb of Miami / Autonation are crooks as well.. they wanted $25-$35 for the key, but when I got there to order it, they tacked on $15 for FREIGHT!!!!!!!!!! MOther f'ckers.... bottom line, I have no spare.... gave them another chance this week for a spare brake light, $4.... bought it elsewhere for .55...

You should pay about $25 for a key. I purchased an 87 560SL and had only one. Had to produce my registration and DL before they would order it. Then they did not call when it came in. About 2 months later I checked on it and they gave me hell for not picking it up. I advised that they did not call me and they did have my phone number. I again had to prove who I was. MB is very close on making keys as it is a desirious auto to steal and strip. I am happy for that but all I ever hear is how independent and stuck up they are. Well that is my story but it should not be more than $25. VLP

That's interesting, since most of the parts I order for my W201 at the dealership aren't in stock, they have to air freight them to Honolulu, but they only charge the EPC retail, no freight is added on. I would assume that's how all the dealership justify the retail pricing. I have a pair of wheel mounting lugs coming in next week and they're $12.

I bought a set of all weather mats for a '94 - '99 c class because I could not find a set for my '92 190E. They fit fairly well (although the back ones are somewhat curved at the bottom toward the seat) and I think I paid around $65 for them at the dealer. You might try looking on ebay for a set of these.

Thanks Hatterasguy!! I have been using the ones from my 190E (really for a w202) in my 420SEL - don't fit well but better than getting the carpets dirty!! I have been using these until I could find a set of all weather mats for my car on ebay. I also have a set of rear seat footrests that I found on ebay - palomino so that they match the interior of my car. I know they are for a 560SEL, but.......

benzboy87 a Dr that I know told me this, he owns both and tried the winter mats from his newer one in his W126's he said they fit good enough.

But I have yet to get a set for mine I would try a set before buying them.

Believe it or not, my dealer in Queens, NY charges me around $18 for a key and it takes a couple of minutes to duplicate one. He tells me that dealers may charge what they like, and sell aftermarket parts too! Sorry to hear about your experiences.

I do intend to start having floor mats made to order by model and will let you all know when they are available. Will be around $50 a set! Won't be original but will fit perfectly.

Went in on a Friday afternoon to my local MB dealer. Paid $12. They called me on Wednesday and it was in.

That's nothing. The dealer here charges something like $190 for a key. Pre-95 models are something like $40.
