This may be a dumb question, but... I'm considering buying Xenon 9004 bulbs for my 89 190E. Before I do, though, I'd like to clean up the slight "haze" that has built up over the years on the inside of the lens/reflector units. Has anyone any experience (good or bad) with trying this? Suggestions on how to do it? Thanks

Never done exactly what you describe... Since I believe the surface your talking about is plastic, try some plastic polish. (from Meguiar's of course) Other than that, the basics of Windex or even Simple Green followed by Windex might do the job. Look carefully at that "haze". I have seen many plastic headlight pieces have a web of thousands of tiny stress fractures in them. If that is the case you will have to replace to get rid of the "haze".
Hope this helps...Lee |
