I have a 98 CLK. I recently got a small nick in the plastic top of the leather shift knob (the plastic part with the 3 pointed star). Is there a way to get it out? Can the plastic insert be replaced without replacing the whole shift knob?
I know this is insignificant, but I guess I'm picky about my car |

I would think the insert would be separate. You could fill out a PartsShop inquiry and we will check into whether that is a different part or not for sure. If there is a chip out of the plastic it sort of becomes an ignore + live-with or replacement item. Sorry we can't be of more help.
