I know this is dumb and non tech, but how do you get dried turtle wax off of a Mercedes
Black plastic bumper (83 240D)

I'd try Meguiar's #7 on it, then clean the whole bumper rub strip with either Lexol Vinylex or maybe the plastic polish. I can personally vouch for what Vinylex will do for the black plastic rearview mirror surround. It gives a very nice shiny look, if you don't wipe it off too much.

In addition to Meguiar's #7, you can try Mother's "Back To Black". Be sure that whatever you are using to rub/apply the #7 or BTB on with has enough nap to get down into the grain of the plastic trim in question. Then remove with something that has enough nap to get everything off. When done Vinlyex or Meguiar's Plastic polish should do well for you. If a rag/terry isn't working then you can use an old toothbrush on plastic trim GENTLY.

Hope this helps....Lee
