Well I decided to tackle the wifes neglected 89 Honda today, it has not been waxed for 3-4 years, is pearl white, and the paint is extremely dirty and faded.

I used Meguires Body Scrub on it, and it brought up the old stuff very nicely indeed!

There was a couple of blotches of cement? on the car, and one big drop of tree sap, and after trying to rub it off, I just put a drop of this stuff on it, and let it soak for 10-15 minutes, then it came right off.

Obviously this stuff is for very neglected paint, and it performed its job very good!

You might also want to go over it with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #7 to really shine it, then some Mirror Glaze #26 or Gold Class liquid wax to protect your hard work. Congrats on your efforts and glad to hear that the "unloved" car is getting some attention.

Well I was wondering, if this car would be " good enough" for this, if not I have 2 bottles of #2 and 3 I was thinking of putting on her. These where initially bought for the benz, but you told me to go to 7 and 26 which I did.

What do you think?

The #2 and #3 are pretty harsh. If there are deep swirl marks in the paint then using one of them might be a good idea. If you have a scratch that isn't all the way through the paint then either #2 or #3 will help, but just to use it...the finish probably would not benefit much from it. If you are already happy with the results of the bodyscrub then let (previously) unloved cars be.
