I’ve been searching for a “good” and so far I’ve tried Meguiar’s Gold Class and Mother’s natural formula carnauba (cake) wax. I put on half my hood of my CLK Meguiar’s and the otherside Mother’s. I’d like to reiterate that the Mother’s wax produced a better shine (amazing it was noticeable).
In conclusion, I believe mother’s won because it has no cleaners in it, while Gold Class does. I haven’t tried Zymol yet, but hopefully for that price it will outperform Mothers. |

Gold Class seems to do its best on slightly less than perfect finishes. I've always been a fan of #7 till you drop, then #26, but dark colors seem to do better with Gold Class. IMO the 2-step is still the best for ultimate results. With Gold Class just save some #34 to get all the white dust that comes with using it. I can't promise you how much more Zymol will shine, but I can promise you that you will labor much harder with the Zymol.
Let us know how it turns out...Lee |

another 2 cents...
Zymol really brought the color back to my green '66 250S, but didn't work well on my silver 190sl. I have used meguiars with good success in the past, and will switch back to it. The zymol does not leave a smooth finish, when done, at least in my experience. [This message has been edited by EricH (edited 09-07-1999).] |
