My '94 E320 convertible has scuffed looking walnut on the centre console around the window switches. It appears to have a polyeurothane coating that won't polish up very well.
Any suggestions?
The rest of the wood looks so nice - I am keen to get it all polished up!
Cheers

Phil,
Be VERY careful with that wood. It is more fragile than any paint on the car. For light de-dusting use Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection and minimal pressure. To get the scratches out, try some Meguiar's plastic polish. Once done with that, protect the wood with an application/removal of Mirror Glaze #26 wax. Use the lightest pressure possible at all stages. As in drag the detailing cloth accross first, then go up from there. If that doesn't do the trick for you let us know and we can take it from there.

Hope this helps...Lee

I've been using Meguiar's #7 on my 126's wood, with excellent results. Is there a year after which MB changed the wood finish to something that is better cleaned with Meguiar's plastic polish or is this stuff now recommended for any MB's wood? I must admit to using some pressure, and even using my fingernail behind a smooth finishing cloth, to remove some spots (adhesive?) on the surface of my ashtray wood, for example. My wood appears to have had spots that #7 and lots of patience and elbow grease does get rid of. I just wish it came off with less elbow grease.
