well, I'm taking my car to a good body shop that specializes in MB tomorrow to get the bottom panels painted black. Another obstacle to my goal of a monochromatic look is the odd pinstrip color combo of white and crimson red which are painted on...up until now I've had them covered with black pinstriping tape, but this isn't really acceptable...from afar it isn't noticeable but up close it is. I know it's probably a long shot but is there any method for removing painted pinstripes without having to go with a full paint job? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Chris,
if the pinstripe is really painted on then it is doubtful you can get a cosmetically perfect removal. You should probably talk to the bodyshop that is doing the other work. They surely have more experience with cosmetic work like that. They might be able to offer something. Good Luck....Lee |
